Family Go Green, Inc. the parent company of Green Goodness was founded by us as a need for greener options for our children. We initially owned a local cloth diaper/natural parenting store locally but found it not very rewarding spending hours shipping orders but not feeling as is we were making a difference.

So after some health issues and the birth of our fifth son, we did some soul searching and decided to move our business in a completely different direction that would facilitate educating people about the greener side of life and would allow us to be more active in the community. We sold our store to a local family, The Murray’s.

Family Go Green, Inc. is the parent company of two businesses, this one and Belly Go Green- Coming Soon!

Green Goodness Diaper Service was founded in September 2007 originally branded as Luving Mamma Diaper Service under our retail stores name. However, as we went on to sell our store we choose to re-brand it to keep it identified separately. Our service is a Green diaper service. This means we do not use any harsh chemicals such as bleach every week in our diapers. We do utilize bleach between customers using the diapers as a disinfectant however that is minimal and required to prevent spread of germs/infection. We also do not wash our diapers in large batches. We wash each customers diapers individually and every week as weather permits half of all diapers are line dried/sun dried to save on energy usage. We also use the sun’s great bleaching powers to remove stains left by the washing process. We use green laundry detergent including natural bleaching agents. Lastly, we do not use plastic bags for our deliveries, we use reusable diaper pail liners that are used hundreds of times before being rotated out. We re-sell or donate all retired service items to help encourage Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle. Email us if you have any other specific questions!

Belly Go Green is a service orientated business that helps families make their lives more green when they learn they are welcoming an addition. We help facilitate Green nursery redecorating, energy conversions, Green baby showers and cloth diaper showers. We have lined up some awesome corporate sponsors and hope to see many of our local customers are our community shower we are planning to have soon!

We also have started the process to create a local Green Foundation that will be a non-profit organization to help low income and in need families go green. Through donations, volunteers and governmental funding we hope to donate energy efficient appliances, light bulbs, weatherization, and more to these families and individuals who need it most. Being green isn’t hard when it’s done right so we also hope to hold some great informational seminars to help as well.
